Day 15 – Try a Simple Breathing Exercise with Grounding

Today let’s do something super simple and calming. Breathing exercises – I love them so much I have a huge smile on my face just thinking about it! Weird? Maybe. But maybe you will too after you’ve done a few! I love to do this when I’m trying to fall asleep or having trouble focusing.

Find some where quiet. A quiet room, your car, even a bathroom works, it doesn’t take too long. 
Get comfortable, sitting or laying down.
Close your eyes.
If your laying down, puting your hands on your stomach helps you focus too, or just leave them in a comfortable position.
Start noticing your breath.
Then breathe in to the count of four, and then out. Count at a medium speed, not too fast or too slow.
Breathe in to the count of five, then out five.
Breathe in 6, out 6
Breathe in 7, out 7
Breathe in 7, hold your breath for four counts, then breathe out 7. Try to go slow!
Breathe in 8, hold for 6, then breathe out 8
Breathe in 7, hold 4, breathe out 7
Breathe in 7, breathe out 7
Breathe in 6, out 6
Go back down to 5 breaths and then 4
Let your breath go naturally
Just be for a few moments, do it a second time for added calmness or jump back into your life with a changed perspective!

And, of course, because what else would we be diffusing and slathering all over for this exercise but… Grounding! Bet you saw that coming. 😉
